Michigan native and Grand Valley State University Laker, Dr. Meggan McCone, proudly brings her skills and expertise in treating children back to West Michigan. Her warm and compassionate demeanor and calm confidence will help to put your child at ease. Grand Rapids Pediatric Dentist Dr. Meggan enjoys educating parents and encourages you to ask questions about your child’s oral health. She strives to serve her patients by combining outstanding care with an exceptional and informative experience for your family.
Dr. Meggan received her Bachelor’s in Science from Grand Valley State University. In her junior and senior year of college she volunteered for Tooth Time at the Grand Rapids Children Museum, where she realized that her passion involved working with children of all ages and backgrounds. She went on to attend the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where she led the Jonathan Taft Society — advocating for access to dental care with a focus on community service.
After dental school, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry where she served as chief resident. While there, she trained to specialize in comprehensive preventive and restorative dentistry for infants, children and adolescents — including children who have special health care needs. Dr. Meggan also trained in various behavior guidance techniques, as well as sedation and hospital dentistry for children who may benefit from such services to complete their dental care.
Her approach with each child is unique and she has the ability to adapt for your child’s individual success. Dr. Meggan is a diplomate in the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Informed parents realize the advantages of their children receiving care from pediatric specialists with board certification and membership in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
In her free time, Dr. Meggan enjoys spending time with her friends and family including her highschool-sweetheart husband, Chris and their 2 young kiddos and 2 very friendly black cats. She enjoys photography, biking, kayaking and traveling. She looks forward to meeting you and your family!

Dr. Jessica was born and raised in Indianapolis and attended Indiana University where she was an Academic All-American tennis player and earned her degree in Biology. She moved from Bloomington to Ann Arbor where she attended the University of Michigan and graduated with her DDS. From Ann Arbor, her specialty pursuit took her to San Francisco (UCSF) where she earned a certificate in Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Master’s in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences. During her time at UCSF, she published articles in Clinical Genetics about craniofacial and dental development in certain syndromes. Her research translated into a passion for taking care of patients with genetic and craniofacial anomalies. Upon graduation, Dr. Jessica was awarded the Excellence in Dental Care of Patients with Disabilities award. She became an American Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in 2012.
She started her career practicing in Chicago and moved to Grand Rapids to join a wonderful, established private practice where she practiced for nearly 10 years. Dr. Jessica has scaled back her private practice days but is glad to be on the amazing team at Growing Smiles and provide the highest quality care for every child she has the pleasure to see.
Dr. Jessica is also an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the University of Michigan and is serving on the Pediatric Oral Health Advocacy Committee for the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Jessica appreciates healthy competition and enjoys playing racquet sports. She is a sports fan but her heart is with the Indiana Hoosier basketball team – GO IU! She is learning Spanish, coaching her son’s basketball team, and loves to travel. Dr. Jessica and her husband are busy raising 3 children and enjoying West Michigan’s endless opportunities to be in the beautiful outdoors.
